A cake smash photo session is a fun, joyful way to commemorate the milestone of your little one’s first birthday. Usually taken between 9-12 month of age it is a great time to capture their little personalities and also a good opportunity to use those cute pictures for their first Birthday invitations! 

Most parents think that Baby will dive right into the cake, that is not always the case. It is a good idea to have Baby try some cake beforehand to get used to the taste / texture. 

Please bring Baby's favourite toy along as well Baby's favourite snack (so we can hide it in the cake should we need to). 

Also don't forget to bring a soppy cup to wash down all that cake! 

All my cake smash packages include a bubble bath at the end, so you don't have to worry about taking a dirty child home in the car (towels and face washer provided)

We start the session off with taking a few portrait shots, then introduce the cake and let the fun begin! Some Babies are a little unsure at first when placed in front of the cake and need a little help and encouragement, not every Baby digs straight in. But don’t worry, we will still manage to get a lot of cute messy shots! When bub has had enough, we move him/her to the mini bathtub and give them a nice warm bath and get those super cute bath photos. And the best thing; Baby will be nice and clean for you to take home and you don’t have to worry about the mess as that is all included in my cake smash package.

Parents can make use of my collection of cake smash outfits for Baby and are also welcome to bring their own if preferred. Please check out my facebook page or website for pics of my outfits & backdrops. I also advise to bring a change of clothes for parents, as the icing can quite literally get everywhere!

It is advised to book in advance as sessions fill up quick, this ensures you get a slot that suits you best. Most of my clients book a date a few weeks before their baby’s birthday as images from their session are used to display at their baby’s birthday party or used for invitations / Thank you Cards.

Images will be delivered to you via an online gallery 10-14 days after the Cake smash. Please keep that in mind when booking the session, especially if you want to use them for the Birthday invitations.

Please contact me before your session to reschedule. The cakes generally keep really well in the fridge for 7 days. It is always better to rebook your session, if your baby is unwell, overtired or grizzly with teething as we are very unlikely to get a good session from them that day.

The Cake smash sessions take place at my home based studio in Point Cook, Victoria (25kms West of Melbournes CBD).

A non refundable $100 deposit is payable at the time of booking a cake smash session to secure your date, with the balance due on the day of the session. Pricing can be found here on my pricing page
